26 November 2007
The ABA Grandnationals are in the history books. The team did great with five riders in the mains. Despite having a birthday the week before the Grands Kyle McArthur made both class and cruiser mains. A hard wreck in the cruiser main held Kyle back, but he still earned his first two NAG plates. Bridget Walter was on fire all weekend and finished with a strong second place that should get her a NAG 2 plate. Preston Barley, 9X, made that ultra tough main; his first ever Grands main. Doc Graham and Shelby Fuller, our two strongest riders, both had trouble going into the first turn. Doc got tangled up with Danny Bushnell and almost went over the turn and Shelby plowed into the second place rider when she blew up right in front of her. All in all it was a great weekend.
20 August 2007
The Pryme factory team had a great turn out in Colorado which resulted in
some outstanding individual performances and decent team scores. Doc Graham
picked up two more wins in cruiser and even got in the mix on 20" with guys
15 years younger than himself. Shelby Fuller has made it clear that she is
the one to beat in the 8 girls class, winning on Saturday. Bridget Walter
has had some rough races lately, but showed that she can bounce back,
winning cruiser on Sunday. Bridget also took a 2nd on Saturday as well as
making both 20" mains. Joel House also made all four mains, with his best
finish being a 4th in expert with three racks of riders. Ryan Macdonald
continues to hunt and peck his way up the national ladder, scoring a 5th in
expert on Sunday. Last but not least Kim Vanderpas scored a third in
cruiser on Saturday. The team placed fourth on Saturday and fifth on
Sunday. Look for individual riders in SoCal and Disney, and the team will
be in force at the ABA Grands.
6 August 2007
The Pryme Factory squad headed to Minnesota for the ABA's Land O' Lakes
National and the results were good. At 51 years old Doc Graham tears up the
track, scoring the win both days in cruiser and a solid third in 36 and over
expert (that's 15 years younger if you are counting). Shelby Fuller put
together her best race of the year, winning her class both days. Look for
Shelby to be racing her new Redline bike at her next event. Banged up
Bridge Walter finished second both days in cruiser and second and third in
class. Fresh off a broken hand, Preston Barley, made class and open mains
both days with his best finish being a third in open. Ryan Macdonald
continues to inch his way up the performance ladder and added a fifth in 13X
with five groups. Joel House took the second in 15 cruiser on Sunday to go
with his fourth on Saturday. The team scored 4th both days in factory, one
point out of third on Saturday and two on Sunday; soooo close. Look for
Pryme Factory riders in Delaware and Colorado next.
3 April 2007
Desoto, TX is the annual home to the ABA's Super Nationals. Being centrally located for most of our riders the team had a good turnout. Kyle worked his magic for another win in 9X. Bridget Walter snagged her third win of the year in cruiser; plus a second and two class mains. Doc raced out of class on Saturday to a third place, but came back to win his class on Sunday. Preston Barley and Ryan Macdonald had breakout weekends. Preston scored two seconds in open and podiumed in 8X on Sunday, while Ryan made his first and second ever national expert mains, nailing down a fourth in 13X. Joel House made three out of four mains and Shelby Fuller found herself in the unusual position of being in fifth on Saturday, but came roaring back to her usual spot in the top three on Sunday. Cody McArthur had another rough weekend, but still managed two fourths in cruiser. Mark down two fifth place finishes for the team. Check out all the photos at ababmxphotos.com.
19 March 2007
Factory Pryme rolled in to Las Cruces, NM five riders deep for the ABA's Southwest Nationals. Kyle McArthur, 9X, pulled the win on Sunday in class and two more thirds in class and cruiser proved that it was no fluke. Doc Graham did his usual damage, winning 51-55 cruiser both days. Kim Vanderpas brought home two thirds in cruiser and A Pro, Adam Scott, took a 6th at the pre-race and a 7th on Sunday. Cody McArthur, 11X, was out front all weekend, but also spent some time on the ground; 4th, 7th, and 8th for him. Together the team scored 6th place both days in factory and earned some valuable Factory points. Next stop is the Super Nationals in Desoto, TX; March 30th - April 1st.
